If anyone has seen this what are your thoughts? Baylor should have been given death penalty

Haven't seen it, but Dave Schultz goes off about it all the time on the radio in Lafayette.

I agree with him...shut the whole damn school down. It's an atrocity that that school is even allowed to exist.

Between that, the football program rapeaganza, and Kim Mulkey being a dumbass and basically defending it, they should, AT THE LEAST, drop a nuke on the whole athletic department, and BAN everyone associated with it from the NCAA.

School definitely got off easy, but I don't know how the hell people at the time didn't just beat Dave Bliss' arse or kill him.

I haven't watched it yet, but remember when it all went down. Pretty insane.

Apparently Bliss was forced to resign his current coaching position because of the backlash from the show. It's equally insane that someone would even hire him again.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the basketball team before Drew actually attempt to cover-up a player murdered by his own squad?

Hey, I am just asking. Seemed like they found him in a field or something later after he went missing. Drugs or some shite.

Now, that sir, is truly crazy.

He's had multiple head coaching jobs since he left Baylor. I know for a time he worked for a private HS in Texas. The private HS got kicked out of TAPPS for cheating.

I mean we got about as close as possible to the death penalty, without getting the death penalty.

The school placed itself on probation, limited itself to 7 scholarships for two years and imposed a post-season ban for one year. Additionally, the NCAA further punished the school by initiating a non-conference ban for the 2005–2006 season and extending the probationary period during which the school would have limited recruiting privileges.

It's all that more remarkable that Drew came to Baylor and coached during the sanctions and that he made the NCAA Tournament in 2008.

Ok. I saw something years ago on it, but it has been awhile.

It is shocking they still have an athletic program after the more recent unveiling of wrongdoings.

The documentary was very well done and made me even more disgusted with Baylor as an institution.

Those tapes of Bliss discussing Patrick Dennehy made me sick.

"We can say whatever we want about him and it won't matter because he's dead."

Asking his other players to lie to police and NCAA investigators and smear a murdered young man just to save his own arse? Disgusting.

And the fact that Bliss is coaching again while Abar Rouse - the Director of Basketball operations who taped Bliss and did the right thing - is blackballed from coaching is so messed up.

I wanted to smack Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim, and Kelvin Sampson when they showed the interviews with them justifying the blackballing of Rouse.

Baylor is seriously rotten to the core.

Their remarks were disgusting. Any respect I had for them is totally out of the window. All of them were more concerned with protecting his head coach over exposing a cover-up for a murder.

Big time money has ruined college athletics. Anyone throwing stones at Baylor is living in a glass house - you are one bad coach or player away from having serious problems in your own backyard.

The sick part is that if Baylor was a G5 school, the death penalty would have been triggered.

Penn State and Baylor should thank the sky above that they a P5 schools.

Let this happen at Rice, Louisiana Tech, Central Florida, San Jose State, etc and the NCAA rolls out the execution mask for them.

Major college basketball coaches are slimy MFs with rare exception.

Just heard about this on Dallas radio. Sickening. Death penalty should have been leveled at this school. And yes, there are other corrupt "cultures" at similar schools, but not really to the extent of this. Some of the good Baptists (and there are some) need to force the hand of accountability on the school and its athletics department.
