quit worrying about our name.

If you think about it, ULL fans use the trans playbook.

-Change name/identity absurdly
-Get mad when others don’t call them that and demand it (see espn memos)
-“why do yall even care????”
-“big bad LSU is punching down!” Is just “we’re a marginalized group being oppressed!”

Now that I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it haha

It’s really strange. They love to call out any and every LSU fan “worrying about their name” but apparently they ignore their school officials that are “worrying about their name”

You guys are the insecure ones. Why are you ashamed to call your team by the proper name, University of Louisiana at Lafayette?

I’ve never in my life seen anything more pathetic than a school administrator contacting ESPN and demanding to be called a name that is not the school name.

I don't blame them I wouldn't want people to know I'm from Lafayette either

Your full name is LSU A&M. You say "LSU." We pay no mind. You do the opposite when we do the same.

You do the same exact thing your fans cry that we do. I don't want to hear it.

Is that why they lost to Rice…40 years later?

I think UL saw it as a marketing strategy as an attempt to attract a bigger audience; which is the same strategies companies use for the same reasoning.
I think there are fans on both sides, that are hyper-fixated on the other which leads to nonconstructive discourse. But I think level-headed fans for both teams do realize that LSU and UL are not equal and never will be on any level. But that does not mean UL's attempt to build and harbor a program that could be recognized on a national level in the mid-major/G5 market should be continually scrutinized, but should rather be encouraged.

That’s not how this works, that’s not how any of this works.

It’s exactly how it works. The irony of fans who call their school by a shortened abbreviation of their official name complaining about fans of another school calling their school by a shortened abbreviation of their official name is entertaining to me.

Finally some simple logic to this discussion
