I didn't say he wouldn't be fine. He would be ok in a system like the one in OKC for the last forever years he has been there.

But, in a system that is about ball movement to find the ball's right destination it isn't about him being so creative as in finding the right pass to open the movement. Why Nash was so nasty. He knew exactly where to go. Westbrook would have to look to pass mostly and then shoot. His assists are predicated on him alone and not the system--that isn't a stab at him.

Westbrook is as polarizing as any player I've ever seen. No doubt.

Harden was characterized the same way going into this season.

He'd be a really bad fit. Likes to dominate the ball while everyone stands around and waits on him. Not as good of a passer as Harden. Houston would be worse.

Yea, I think basically both teams would get worse if they swapped.

Way to prove you don't know anything about basketball. Westbrook would be VERY good in this system.

He'd have MUCH more space to operate and would have really good shooters to kick it out to.

Hey Bubba regular season just isn't that important. So we like to talk ab MVP during reg season. Once playoffs start and the games really matter that obvi makes reg season irrelevant.

His style in no way fits Houston's system.

They would have to change their entire offensive style to accommodate as he dominates the ball to be effective. He would not fit well in that system they run whatsoever. He needs volume, and Dantoni's system is about movement.
Oh my god

Imagine how unbeatable Houston would be if Westbrook and Harden switched places. I bet this thought makes Houston fans cry at night

They wouldn't be. Westbrook is everything the rockets are not. Harden is clearly a better 3 point shooter.

His career Ast-TO ratio says otherwise.

one guy just started playing pg full time this season, the other has played pg his entire career...btw, which of these two started on a roster with another future HOFer that has won an MVP in the last 5 years? That might jade the stats a bit...

Harden has a slightly better % on 170 more attempts... not sure if it could get much clearer.

Harden is a 36% career 3pt shooter, while Westbrook is a 31% career 3pt shooter.

Water is wet, sky is blue, etc.

Where did James Harden start his career?

As a shooting guard coming off the bench.

so he didn't start on a roster with two other hall of famers?

Maybe you meant he wasn't a starter on a roster with a hall of famer.

He didn't play the same minutes. Harden played 10 mpg less than Westbrook on okc, and as I said, he was not playing pg, thus not the primary distributor of the ball.

I have no idea how their time at okc would equalize their opportunity. If anything, it gives Westbrook more opportunity and Harden less because his role was diminished with Durant on the team.

Westbrook could have been on the floor at the same time as Harden and would have still been the primary ball-handler.

That is true.. Won't argue that.

So, is Westbrook coachable?

Donovan can't coach this dude.
