In March 2018, NFL quarterback Kirk Cousins signed a three-year, $84 million guaranteed contract with the Minnesota Vikings. At the time, Cousins' deal made him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

I always thought the Mike Hampton deal to Colorado was the Biggest big money free agent signing disaster I ever saw...this may rivals that.

And a good part of the MSB loved the deal.

To be fair, it’s still not completely awful since it’s only 3 years still. If Cousins wanted to go for a normal QB contract like Flacco or Rodgers, they’d be having cap complications for the next 5-7 years trying to get him off the books. And he had the leverage to make that happen. They might’ve ended up paying him less, but the cap effects would’ve been harder to recover from than a 3 years and you can get out type of deal.

If the Ravens could go back in time and resign Flacco to this deal vs the deal they signed, they would take this deal 100/100

Dudes agent DESERVES whatever percentage of that contract he got. He probably greatly increased his client base as a result too.

My favorite contract thread ever is when Matthew Stafford got paid, half the board was legitimizing the deal

It isnt even the worst QB deal. They are.unable to protect him, and their fumble rate is extremely higj, a year after being low- and it isnt even QB fumbles that are killing them. They still probably make the playoffs, which isn't too bad considering the lack of team health as well
