Yes, the Texans own him until then. But do you think the team survives a pissing match with its star QB given the fan base being pissed at the front office’s nonsensical bullshite?

Depends if they start winning a few games. Things change really quickly in the nfl.

Sitting out a season doesn’t really accomplish anything besides make him less money

Stays healthy and sticks it to them that he won't play for them. Kinda the point in the first place.

Found it

quote:

On ESPN, Schefter added the following: "The other option at Watson's disposal in the opinion of people around the league would be this: withholding his services from the Houston Texans. That's how angry he's said to be. And again, it's only January. It's just getting started. Perhaps they can calm him down and talk to him. But that is also an option that the Texans would not want to see, where he would wind up withholding his services, threatening to retire or at least not go to Houston.

That’s not really anything publically tho, just schefter speculation and speculation from “people around the league”

If he holds out he has to pay back his signing bonus and his contract tolls for another year so he’s in the exact same spot he is in now with 10 of millions less money in his pocket

ETA it’s a flashy headline. It’s like writing the “What if Trevor Lawrence stays another year to avoid the Jets” article every couple weeks

Reporting he's so angry he won't play for them is basically the same thing.

Either way, Watson isn't playing for them next year. Via trade or sit out.

That’s not what he said or reported.

He’s not sitting out. He’ll likely get traded but he’s not going to leave the money on the table. There’s no upside to doing that

So you think he won't sit out the season as reported by Schefter and many others? Okay homie.

You must have some serious sources.
