You lie. This didn't happen.

I realize that the Denham/Central game was very ugly the last couple of years, but that doesn't advocate cheering for high school kids to get hurt. The Denham/Central game last night did not have any of the fireworks from the previous years, so hopefully the teams can just focus on playing football now.

Once again, adult coaches are sometimes talked about on these message boards, but let's try to not bring in the high school kids in our criticism.

When did I root for a kid to get hurt?

And the central fans were talking about that incident last night at the game...

Y would they make shite up about their own qb?

I certainly don't wish for a kid to get hurt...

Other things central parents were talking about:

they don't think sid will be there long because he doesn't have a degree
they didn't like briscoe on the radio saying they would score 100 on denham

after someone brought up the radio thing is when another parent brought up the acadiana pistol pulling incident and him getting hurt.

Just relaying what was said on that side...

I never sit on the home side of denham games

Buddy would call that karma:)

Looks like a smiley face after a player got hurt. Acadiana didn't purposely hurt anyone.

You mentioned that you heard other people talking about it, so you didn't see the game. Don't always believe what you hear. I saw a Dateline story one time about eyewitnesses. They set up a situation where a guy ran into a college classroom, stole the teachers purse and ran out. They then interviewed the classroom of about 40 students and there were about 20 different descriptions of the thief.

I got off topic there, but my main point is that I don't agree with going over to the Tiger Rant to bash college players who are doing their best, so I certainly don't want to see high school kids poor mouthed.

I agree hearsay is dangerous..

But the smiley face was a poke at buddy songy.

I like chiming in on the in game buddy threads because I think his buddyisms are ridiculous.

I was certainly not happy when the kid got hurt and don't wish it...

I wanted to see them play for the title last year, and I think they can this year.

The reason all this came up was I am impressed with alot of their kids and I was trying to get a gauge on how physically big the kids are... See if they were D-1 size.

I asked how big Rae cutno was because he looked huge for a wr... Asked how tall briscoe was, and when someone said he was about 6'2", I then said "oh so he will be playing somewhere next year."

then someone kinda joked about him being cocky and if he can hold it back while talking to college coaches. From there they started tLkomg about incidents

THe Briscoes are good kids. Sid is also not cocky, if they scored late it was not to run it up. its football that happens, denham should try to stop them. As mentioned you can bash any coach, they are in that position but don't bash a 17yr old. Remember how you were at 17

I'm just glad to see the Denham vs Central game become relevant in a District title conversation. Both programs seem to be on the right track.

That game last night made me think of something and maybe you can answer me a question, if you saw the game

Their loss vs st paul I heard was very contraversial

how good is that st Paul team? Was it a case of evenly matched teams, or was central just not clicking?

from what i hear it was a combination of central not exactly clicking and the refs being obviously one-sided.

Anyone familiar with Sid Edwards teams know that if he can score 70 points on someone he will. I remember when he was still at Redemptorist they played I think it was White Castle and one of the Ibervilles two weeks in a row. And they ended both those games with scores of like 73-0 and 68-0 (against some small schools with less than 30 kids on the teams).

With that said he is a great coach and talent flocks to him. If he stays at Central you can expect Catholic (BR) and Redemptorist to take a nose dive.

On a side note. St. Paul's is really good and got lucky with the officials call at the end of the game. They still may have won in OT but who knows. St. Paul's has played everyone tough this year and only lost to a very good Karr team.

Central's D was not clicking. Their offense was pretty good. The QB was something like 20/30 for 4 TD's. The officiating MAY have been a little suspect. But the call they made at the end of the game was 'technically' the right call. But after a last second 70+ TD to 'tie' the game. You can hardly expect 16 - 18 year olds not to get excited. Some kids on the side lines ran onto the field which drew a celebration penalty. And then the 35 yard extra point was missed wide.

The St. Paul game was played very well on both sides and you had some Central fans saying there were some bad calls and one sided refs but you always have that when things don't go the way the fans want. I can only hope that Central continues to play well and that Sid stays around because to see the community come out and support the football team is amazing. I graduated from Central in 97 and we did not have nearlier the turn out of kids that wanted to play football. I think we had a lot of talented kids but the atmosphere was not the same so I can only hope that this keeps going because I love to support the wildcats!!

Another question regarding sid Edwards...

Because a parent talking about thinking sid won't be around pointed to him not having a degree as the reason he won't be around...

I dont know why that would be the case. Is there a limit the years he can stat at a public school without a teaching degree? I'm not sure of the rule, if one exists

well when there is 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter and you are up 42-14...Why leave the starting QB in and sling it down the field for more TDs..Jus classless in my opinion

I don't think it's classless. Coach Sid knows how to get a team prepared for the playoffs. Look at Central's remaining schedule. Is there any game on there that requires his starters playing more than two quarters?

I've read multiple articles over the years about how Sid couldn't get a head job til he graduated, he got the Redemptorist job in 1997 after gradtuated from Nicholls after taking some ridiculous amount of hours for 2 semesters.

He definitely has a degree and the big hold up was certification, but I understand he is certified in PE now.
