It means it’s not ok to get it completely wrong 20% of the time as a machine.

It's not a machine.

Yep. A Bama fan wanting losses to be in the top 3 playoff criteria. Imagine that.

I guess you still think the Tide should get in.

I understand that the “metrics” are created by men in a formulaic sense, then plugged into a computer. I’m arguing the value of the metrics if they get it that wrong 20% of the time. There is a fundamental flaw.

They're each individual metrics merely compiled for convenience.

Convenience for whom? If the committee is using them, I’d argue that they’re too flawed in their current incarnation.

This isn’t personal. I know that you’ve been posting this stuff before it became such a hot topic that your team is a part of.

Convenient to click on each poll each week. The top of the page has all the links.

The aggregate also does tell a narrative as well.

So to be clear what do you think is more important than losses? Don't be obtuse talk in metrics.

I think they should use the spreads issued by Vegas to factor in their rankings. That will really tell you were they are ranked.

Alabama and Penn State ranked higher than Alabama? Sure... I guarantee you that opening line would be at least -7 Alabama on a neutral field - with a backup quarterback.

So you think SP+ should factor into the CFP decisions?

How is Oklahoma “clearly better?” They were damn lucky to get by Baylor and Iowa State. Tcu got royally screwed and they were in a dog fight against UT.
