They are already "injured" 20% of every season, because we don't reside in a division that requires them to play every game So, in short, it's business as usual
I’m ridin!
But do remember we get 24 less games to work with against the AL West this year.

Not a problem for them
Might be more beneficial, b/c Mariners are good, Rangers are improved
Angels might be worse
Anything less than a 10 game difference would be an upset

I mean hopefully my projected lineup that had Yed and Ted both out of it does not come to pass…if they both play their normal amount of games, I think the 10 game cushion is in play. Feel ok about Ted….not so much with Yed. I don’t think he has even hit live pitching yet. Hard to imagine he’d be good to go in a week.

He's supposed to be in tomorrow's lineup.

Thanks…I had not seen that. Man that’s good news.

5:05 game on Sportsnet today. Yordan is supposed to be in the lineup.

It sounds like Tucker is fine from what I read

ESPN rated the top 100 players. While some of their rankings are dumb and biased, the Astros have 8 players listed. Shows how talented this team is, even with Altuve hurt. Included the entire infield, Alvarez, Tucker, Framber and Javier.

The Athletic did a ranking of pitchers and Framber/Javi were both in the "No. 2's and 3's" tier along with Luis.
Only unanimous Ace was JV...
Hmm

Javier is going to win the Cy Young this year and people will still think he should start the post season in the pen.

Idk about you guys but this off season has blown by for me. Doesn't seem like nearly a full off season has passed since LSU was beating Bama and 10 minutes later Astros won the World Series

My time has been more measured, probably for personal reasons, but I can't think of a season where my anticipation was as high as this one.
I have re-watched so many significant moments from season's past that I could narrate them
And I will add that my level of fanaticism for MLB and Astros has officially surpassed CFB for a lot of reasons
The more that MLB moves away from any subjectivity (automated strike zone), the more perfect sport it becomes

The off-season has flown. I wanted it to feel like it lasted longer to savor being champions, and I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had time to go back and re-watch a bunch of things. I’m trying to spend this week catching up on that before next Thursday. But I’m ready for this season to start.

Rank these calls...
GURRIEL...HAS..TIED..IT!
HIGH FLY BALL GOODBYE!
ALTUVE! HAS JUST SENT THE ASTROS TO THE WORLD SERIES!
Groundball right side this should do it. The Houston Astros are world champions!
High drive deep center field, Vierlings back...THIS GAME HAS TURNED UPSIDE DOWN!
Davis game winning call doesn't even stand out to me. I know it was something like "this time they finish the job" but those other ones stand out in my mind

Not gonna beat "turned upside down" for me
I think I was at all the others except last out in '17
I don't pray for the outcome of sporting events, but with all the memories I have of me and my dad and the Astros, I got on my knees in front of the TV when Yed came up to bat, and I asked God just to get Altuve home and give us a chance.
The last update my dad ever gave me was a Yed HR earlier in the season.
My wife heard me hit the floor and came running from the living room where she had LSU on. To that point, I hadn't watched one play of football, scared to jinx anything.
I guess it was 5 minutes later that she said from the living room that I might want to come see this. It was the replay of Daniels run in OT
There's a lot more to the story that took place earlier that day that led to me not going to Houston for the game, but I'll save that for another time

I'm going on the assumption that I will be watching on the same channel on DirecTV as usual

In terms of sheer drama, I think it’s hard to beat the Altuve HR call.
On a personal note, the last out of 17 will always be the one I remember the most as I didn’t know if I would ever see it. During the minutes leading up to it, I thought of being a kid and the excitement of the Dome coming into view every time we headed in on 610 west.
Damn my allergies are acting up.
