He could have made up for starting King in the 2nd by going and getting him after the first two guys reached… Joe let him face THREE more guys after that.
So he flipped the switch hitter to give up a knock, let him face RH Meidroth, and then King hit Montgomery 1-2 and still faced two more batters. It’s incomprehensible.

Joe manages every game with an attitude of “we’ll get’em tomorrow”, until there is no tomorrow, which should be tomorrow. 15-1. That’s the record of the teams that win game one of the 3-game wildcard series. The only team to win their series after losing game 1 was Boston last year against the Yankees. Knowing that, and adding our season home record, plus losing our last 8 playoff games at home, plus our lineup, plus our manager. I’d put our chances at <8% we even extend the series to a 3rd game.

12 innings at best.
Brown 6, Wesneski 7 isn't out of the realm of possibility.
And I think they let Brown go 110 pitches if he lasts that long.
