Drew was screaming and barking on the 1st baseline after that ball was caught. Our dugout doesn't start shite with him. Imagine that. Maybe moral police Brian McCann will have a word with him about the unwritten rules.

And a shutdown inning from Mchugh after the 4 run inning

Look, I know this isn't on par with the normal doom and gloom so forgive me in advance. But we're playing a really good baseball game today

No, because Drew is a "ball player" who "plays the game the right way"

If we can finally have a solid road trip this team will be over the moon with confidence. Then add in Springer possibly coming back soon

Saw this article on who gets called up in September. I hoe we see Reed or Appel get their feet wet to prepare for next year. Jandel Gustave/Feliz would be other good options to close some games.

The YES broadcast is on about it again.

"Gomez says if somebody reacts to what I do on the field, that's their fault. Well maybe he should apply that to himself. He flipped the bat and got the Yankees irritated. If he just walks back to the dugout and doesn't tell the Yankees to shut up 3 times, there's none of this fallout today."

Or...or and this is just an idea. If the Yankees don't act like butthurt bitches, theres none of this "fallout". Which is mainly Yankees fans and broadcasters still being butthurt.

This thread melting down after Appel gets blown up in a late Sept start with the division already clinched would be so DAT

Absolutely. I've really felt like we'd finish strong with Springer coming back and pitching being so dominant. I hope these last 2 games are an indication of what's to come because we've gone from, just find a way to win, to actually putting pressure on the opposing pitcher and having good AB's.

I have no interest in seeing Appel pitch any meaningful game for us in September. At every level, he's been completely shelled out of the gate before settling in. If we've already clinched, whatever. But don't put that man in a major league game before the result doesn't matter.

There is zero chance they will have him start a meaningful game in September

I could definitely see my scenario playing out though and it would be hilarious

I don't see it. I think most of us would expect Appel to get shelled.

I assume the downvote was from an Appel hater.
