Which is the good franchise? Stars havent made the playoffs in 3 or 4 years which in Hockey = lousy team.

Often forgotten fact: Modano was in the Mighty Ducks.

So? They are still the most successful expansion NHL team.

They weren't an expansion team, they moved from Minnesota, formerly the North Stars.

I meant south of the mason dixon line. I know that they were formally the North Stars.

By expansion you mean when the stars franchise came into existence in 1967? Other teams part of that expansion were the St. Louis Blues, LA Kings, Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins all of which are successful as well :)

No, I meant most successful team south of the Mason Dixon line. I just tend to sometimes lump them together with the modern expansion teams, so my bad.

I'm not sure I would classify that as "owning" someone.

Man you've taken a lot of crap for that one

Can also argue the Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes have been great at times.

Also, look out this season for the Nashville Predators. Awesome D and Goalie......

You can argue that they have been great at times, but as a southern franchise, no one compares to the Stars success. Not the Kings, Ducks, or Lightning.

Too bad their new owner will eventually move the team to Seattle.

It does suck to know that the owner could be moving them. Anxious to see if the rebranding next year works with the new logo and jerseys.

Seriously, the Kings are not as successful as the Stars. They both have 1 Stanley Cup and 2 Conference Titles. But the Kings have never had the best record in the league and they only have had 1 division title. The Stars have 2 Presidents trophys and have 7 division titles. Remember, the Kings were awful before the 80's and even with Gretzky, they still struggled except for 1992 and 1993.

Gretzky is the only reason they are relevant before winning the SC last year.

Yeah true, I was only thinking around 1985-present.

Still going to be a sad day when the stars leave.
