Jerry built the stadium under the assumption that Dallas would never punt.

Punters will try to hit it on purpose. I mean, they had to measure and make sure a punt wouldn't hit it. It's preseason, so I think the punter completely was trying to do it.

I think so too. I wonder what the likelihood is of it happening in an actual game.

It will happen every time Dallas is up in the fourth quarter.

So once, maybe twice this season.

don't think so. On the 2nd punt after, they said that it was high enough but to the side of the screen and that was a pretty good kick. Punters try to get the most hang time by kicking high. It will happen. A lot

wow, I didn't know someone hit it!

We toured it a few months back and I got in a fight with the project manager who took us around. I guaranteed him that you could hit it and he said they spent tons of money assuring that no punter could. I called tremendous bullshite, as I'm sure anyone else who has seen it in person would, and it took one game for me to be right.

You stand on the field and you feel like you could jump and touch it.

It is so low it's unbelievable. And I personally think it is obnoxious. It's too big and it would definitely distract me from the game.

almost

it's nuts how close it is. I knew for a fact that if i was punting and tried to hit it, that I could.

All I had to do was imagine an NFL punter kicking it for real and it was clear as day that it would be an issue. I'm not sure who they paid to study it, but they're not bright.

What did it look like? Like did it skim it or just bang into it?

it was a bang. the only reason the re-punt missed was because he aimed it to the side...and it still almost hit

wow, what can they do about that? I really don't think that's something that can be fixed quickly

tons of money? Get a punter to kick as high as he can and add 10-20 feet. How much would that cost?

they did mathematical studies and he said they had people come in and try to hit it.

I was in a shite mood and told him that if he could scrounge up a football I'd hit right then and there.

He also told me that those bottom suites wouldn't have blocked views. They're underneath the damn field. Told him I'd rather not stare at Flozell Adams' arse for four quarters if I had my pick.

It's a beautiful stadium, but there's some weird stuff

so everytime a punter kicks a nice high hanger he is penalized by a do-over and the D gets another chance for a block? What a frickin multimillion dollar frick up!

I wonder if he'll raise season ticket prices to cover that?

I heard on sportscenter that it was only 100 feet in the air. That's a joke.

I guarantee "experts" advised the Cowboys that this could happen. And I'm sure they told them having it that low would be a bad idea.

There is no doubt in my mind Jerry Jones is 100% behind this. He just had to have the video screen low enough so the fans could have the best view possible, ignoring the fact that it could cause a problem in, ya know, the actual game.

The NFL had to sign off on it so it's a double frick up.
