I don't mind the rule. I think it's a good rule for purposes like we just saw.
Now, I remember watching a Cowboys? game and the WR made a great play on the ball and game down with in bounds (he was never out of bounds). However the defender had a foot on the line and basically got a hand on the ball even though there was no way he was altering the outcome of the WR catching the ball.
Anyway, by the rule, it was illegal touching. I just think it sucked that negated a great play by the WR.
I wouldn't mind to see the rule adjusted to reflect who comes up with possession of the ball (i.e. if a USM player recovered it but no USM played touched it OOBs, or in the case of what happen, the UH player touched it OOB, therefor no possession can be granted to UH). But maybe that's no good either. just spouting out stuff.
