If it was a lesser known player he would potentially be suspended.

Everyone is making excuses for Curry, but that was a total overboard and unwarranted reaction. He was fouling people during the game and his shite with the ref and throwing his mouthpiece were definitely offense that would normally cause suspensions.

The league isn't going to do that though in a Game 7 to a team's star player no matter how stupid he was. It is funny how he is being defended though by some groups.

Finally someone with common sense in here

FWIW it was a the son of a Cavs minority owner.

What if he threw it like a baby throwing a tantrum and it caused a chain reaction and someone got seriously hurt? Because that was possible.

Say he throws it at a fan, the fan reacts, and jumped up and back and busts his head or someone's chin open?

He has to be suspended for this. I am a fan of neither team but if it wasn't Curry he would be suspended for sure. They suspended Draymond for a dick shot. They have to be consistent here.

But they aren't going to suspend the first ever unanimous MVP, you can count on that.

The NBA should set a strong precedent for throwing shite during a tantrum and suspend him for the first game of next season.

He's not going to be suspended for game 7 of the NBA finals and he shouldn't be....that's just stupid.

If he did it in Game 5 and this was game 6, he definitely would have been.

Haslem was suspended when he threw because he hit a ref I believe.

Kanter and Pierce both threw their mouthpiece into the crowd and both were assessed a fine. Same for throwing the ball as Derrick Favors did once a few years ago.

It shouldn't matter what game it is. You do something to get suspended, you get suspended.

Circumstances should always be considered. It wasn't that bad and a player shouldn't miss the deciding game of the NBA finals for it.

But I do think the NBA should suspend for game 1 of next season.

I agree. Throw your mouthpiece at a FAN? Nobody abuses fans as much as other fans, but, it's OUR JOB to abuse other fans, NOT the PLAYERS' job.

He should be suspended for Game 7 for trying to steal another man's job -- AND for throwing a temper tantrum, which, by the way, is also a FAN'S job, not the Player.

I agree with that. That being said, I would view this as a large fine punishment, not a suspension, especially when he doesn't have a track record like Green did with the junk punches, etc.
