Cubs Talk: Bryan LaHair Appreciation Thread/Sploogeathon

.381 .459 .794 1.253 8 2B, 6 HR, 15 RBI (small sample size, but whateves...)
I thought this guy was just going to warm the first base line for Rizzo, and that's probably still the case, but good on him for generating value. Maybe the Cubs keep him and throw him in leftfield if they can somehow get rid of Soriano.
Anyway, appreciate Bryan LaHair's mashing ways here.

I knew he was gonna take Arroyo deep last night. It was inevitable.

Even Ian Stewart took Arroyo deep.

We are dead last in production from the 3B spot..only Bronson could remedy that.

I don't want to rain on anyones obvious parade but there is no way he can remotely keep up this pace with a .545 BABIP and 35% HR/FB%

Well obviously he won't hit .380 all year barry..but he did hit .330 last year in the minors, and .310 the year before
what was it last year when he hit 40 bombs in the minors?

Hell yeah baby Lahair goes yard again, Campana can't seem to get on base without wanting to steal second and third. Love the hustle Cubbies!!

He's mad Babe Lahair is outhitting Votto.

I fully expect Lahair to have better stats than Votto at season's end.

Votto hit a couple to the warning track last night.
He must have switched from swallowing to spitting

Ok but .550 is obscenely high

Don't know but it doesn't really matter, no one hits remotely close to those rates. Plus he's played in PCL which is a joke for hitters. Stanton hit 25% last year to lead the majors.
Not saying he's gonna be terrible but he's not gonna hit 30 bombs and bat .310

Let's just chalk it up to him having a good month. He does K a lot, but so far his OPS has been a nice surprise.

Put it this way, I wouldn't let his #'s deter me from bringing up rizzo if i were cubs management.

Rizzo is the future. Plenty of time for him to produce. LaHair is producing right now. Let's let him do his thing and worry about Rizzo at another time.

In other words, if LaHair keeps this up it's a good problem to have.

LaHair will never be the reason Rizzo isn't called up.
His future (whether shorterm or LT) is in RF whenever Rizzo is ready.
Moving Byrd was the first piece of the puzzle, DeJesus is next.
