I don't know if you did this on purpose, but these players are first at their position in JAWS (Jaffe WAR Score system).
Copycat.

I took a little bit of a liberty with Ty Cobb since I believe he mostly played centerfielder (but I wanted a really good leadoff hitter) and a complete homer pick as a Mets fan with Piazza at catcher (it's realistic, but I wouldn't call him the best).
1. Ty Cobb - RF
2. Honus Wagner - SS
3. Willie Mays - CF
4. Babe Ruth - LF
5. Lou Gehrig - 1B
6. Mike Piazza - C
7. Eddie Collins - 2B
8. Brooks Robinson - 3B
9. Walter Johnson - SP
CP - Rivera
If you want a designated hitter, put Frank Thomas in at No. 6 and slide Piazza, Collins and Robinson down a slot.

Compare Chippers numbers against other 3B he fares really well. Mel Ott would be one I place above Chipper but being a switch hitter he gives me options

That's right... I would rather have Williams consistency, Aaron's endurance and power, and I also believe Griffey Jr. is the best pure talent of all time.

Not to knock Ted but
Career BA:
Ruth .342
Williams .344
Career OBP:
Ruth .474
Williams .482
Career 200 hit seasons:
Ruth 3
Williams 0
Career Slugging:
Ruth .690
Williams .634
Career hitting over .320
Ruth 13 times
Williams 14 times
I'd say Ruth was pretty damn consistent
quote:
Aaron's endurance and power
Ruth .690 career slugging
Aaron .555 career slugging

Also, Williams' and Aaron's athletic ability... I don't think old George Herman was too swift.

Look at his 1921 stats and tell me how many runs he scored. Looks pretty swift to me.
