Remember Fred Thomas getting torched by Berrian in the NFC title game? Our CB's were McKenzie, Fred Thomas Jason Craft and Fakir Brown if i remember correctly. And Bellamy, Bullocks and Stoutmire at safety after Harper went down. We DESPERATELY needed a corner.

I can see the logic of bringing in David but we should have drafted LB or DT.

Sorry for a typo, Grammar Nazi.

The pick made sense at that time, because any defensive player at that spot would have been a reach.

Again, you're looking at it with 20/20 hindsight.

We're probably going to keep five WRs, which gives us Colston, Henderson, Meachem, Moore, and Arrington.

If we can make that work as far as $ i'm all for it, if not should be byebye to Devery or Meach.

i just don't see it. If the Saints had a great track record in the draft maybe i would be more patient, but they have taken some these gems with their first pick the last 10-20 years:

Meacham
Bush - not a bust, but a dissapointment.
Will Smith - signs, but needs to stay on the field.
Johnathan Sullivan
Stallworthless
Ricky Williams - KILLED us
Turley - at least he was fun to watch
Chris Naeole - whole drafy was a waste
Alex Molden - whole draft was a waste

You say "the Saints" but during that period you're talking what 4 different head coaches, 3 different GMs?

And that's why they signed Jason David at the start of free agency, which is why they felt that taking the BPA was the right move.

Its Meachem's third year which is the make or break year for WRs

Most people consider it his second year because he was injured for the first.

And who was NOT a reach at that slot for those two positions?

That's what it's going to be. Money won't be an issue.

Poslusny (sp?). I don't know if he's turned out to be anything though.

trade down? there would surely have been takers b/c it wasn't a real high salary slot....or go with Olsen, while not a defensive player he was someone many Saints fans wanted.

i know....but as a saints fan i realize some things seem to permeate certain organizations. How many different decision makers have the Clippers had? same results.

crabtree got that bum ankle and cant run. crabtree is a product of the system, similarly to DJ. DJ caught 40+td's in college too and still still havent done shite in the NFL.

just another example of people not knowing what they are talking about
