And rightfully so. Port Barre is the taint of Louisiana.

No one lives there willingly.

I drove through there for the first time recently and thought of Francis when the speed limit on 190 suddenly dropped to like 35 with a well placed state trooper parked in front of that boudin place. Not today officer.

Speaking of boudin, a guy I went to HS with (coincidentally from Port Barre) opened a boudin place in Baton Rouge. Boudin Shack on Nicholson out on the way to U Club. It's pretty fricking legit.

I got some stuff from there when I went back for Christmas. He needs to get Tommy Tanks on an NIL deal. Tanks mentioned in an interview his favorite new food is boudin.

I know both families on the mother's side well.

BTW, did you know that the Kross Gillen kid ranked in top 10 of class of '26 by PG is Carlos' nephew?

I'm wracking my brain right now trying to make a connection, but I'm coming up with nothing. I apologize.

Lechler: $1,500 + Hotel Stay

Gay: $1,000 in Casino Chips + 2 for 1 Buffet Voucher

Bourque’s jalapeño cheese bread is the only reason to exit 190 there.

I assumed you probably heard of Carlos McGee. He played for Port Barre and McNeese years back, then coached at McNeese

Anyway, the kid is at OC now, which is where I assume you went

YES! My dad knew him well. Sorry. I actually thought that's who you might be referring to but I couldn't remember the last name to save my life.

Yeah, I did. That's a couple highly rated kids at OC now. They have a 2024 kid that was identified early, but as more guys have popped up he's slid down the rankings a bit. The Luna kid.

Yes, in addition to Luna and Gillen, their QB Collins is committed to ULL for baseball

I have followed OC for the better part of 15 years due to my kids playing travel ball with them. They have had ample opportunities to win state, but I am amazed at how those kids are utilized, and I'll leave it at that
