Could Wayne Gretzky have been a great soccer player?

I believe so. He had many of the skills needed to play and be really good at soccer. It came to mind when I read that many hockey players practice soccer before games. Gretzky could have kicked arse at soccer more than likely.

It’s tough to say since the body build required for soccer is so much different from other sports.

Something about the sport translates well to others. Rafa Nadal apparently had borderline professional skills, but chose the individual sport. I think even Johnny McEnroe way back thought about soccer, too.

I would say yes, by all accounts he had mlb talent as well. I have heard his best sport was actually lacrosse.
