What's the projected started lineup for tomorrow? Anyone have any kind of guess?
if i had to take a guess, i'd go with something like this:
perkins
dolo conrad marshall pearce
holden beckerman adu rogers
davies
ching
there are a lot of wildcards. i've never seen parkhurst as a straight center back, and i think it gets really complicated through the center of midfield. there are some very versatile players that i think will get a lot of time (namely stuart holden and freddy adu). i think brian ching gets a lot of time after his injury (unless bb decides that he is a known quantity). although, i'd rather see kenny cooper get a chance to play himself back into the set-up. i don't know whether or not bb will stick with charlie davies. at this point, though, it's really anyone's guess. plus, we're playing fricking grenada. so, bb could decide to give his 'first choice' a run out, or he could try to give a few players the chance to prove themselves

why no Jozy uptop?
I would think he'd play in every game possible just so he has a chance to be on the pitch.

depends on what villarreal wants. if they want him playing, he'll play. if they want him sitting, he'll sit.

he's not on the roster. no sense in playing a 19 year old striker extensively in two summer tournaments anyway imo

why not? He hardly played this season.
And HH, they can't say shite. Clubs aren't allowed to tell national teams what to do with their players. It's a FIFA rule

they still do it, they can tell bob "if you want jozy getting playing with us he needs to see the field as much as possible." or the opposite.

point being is I don't see how this wouldn't be a great opportunity to get him more games

he has had some injury concerns, and of course, he has still been training. plus, he was having trouble going 90 minutes during the confed cup. he'll still be here in a year. i'd rather him come along slowly

At least we will finally get to see more of Adu. I think he should get more PT with the MNT. He can have Beasley's spot.

i dont know much about the sport, but i watch it
it seems to me that extra burn and reps are good in anything

well, i agree. i would play him, just saying. he is an investment and the club might want to protect that investment.
clubs do shite like that all the time. when we tried to call up jose torres a while back, pachuca offered him a starting role if he declined.

most respected manager in the world > Villareal's manager
I would think they carry different weights, but I'm guessing on all this

not here. plus, clubs will have a bitch-fit if you play their players "too often." you have to remember that these same players will be playing essentially non-stop next summer. that's three seasons w/o a break

imagine how pissed off the nba teams would have gotten if the olympic team played in the olympics then played another tournament two weeks later.

i think it's mostly in-house. sir alex is the king of fake injuries. the former manager of villareal is now at real madrid, fwiw. i don't know all that much about villareal's current manager; so, i can't really comment there

never thought of it like that

yeah, so i'm sure jozy's minutes might be limited.
i won't watch this game live, i'll tape it and watch it sunday most likely.
