Agreed. McCoy's a baby back bitch

No heart, no swagger, no wherewithal. Legacies are defined by that. The 45 wins ain't mean shite.

Seriously.........

If you told me before the game that a TRUE freshman, with no prior starts, and 26 throws in garbage time on the season, was gonna come in and throw for near 200 yards, and only get sacked vs Bama's defense, I would have laughed at you.

The Bama defense I saw was only good against the run, but looked overmatched and slow defending the pass. Couple that with their mediocre pass rush, and I think Colt was licking his chops at what he saw.

wow, what a bunch of tough guys in this thread

yall know just as much as was told, so quit trying to sound like a bunch of magnum pi's like you have a clue whats going on

all you know is what you have been told, so quit trying to tarnish someone with ZERO FACTS. if it comes out later, that he was in fact being a pussy, which i doubt, then you can pat yourself on the back, but goddamn, its pathetic seeing people rag on a kid who claims he couldnt even feel his arm after the game was over for not playing

Thats all I'm saying.

If he can't feel his arm, how can he throw. You don't think Mack held him out because he thought Colt would be a detriment at that point?

Seriously, I'd rather have a true freshman with no experience who can throw the ball than a Heisman candidate with a dead arm.

This. Bama's D was completely overrated. Shipley got open at will in the second half. Colt would have ripped that secondary to shreds.

No kidding, huh? I bet Ghazi and BamaRamdaAss would have re-entered the game with a dead arm and thrown for 300 yards and a few TDs....

Yep...Colt is a pussy.

im serious when i say that mccoy and shipley would have slanted that defense to death, and then popped them on a double move when it mattered

just mo, but after watching that game, bama got really lucky mccoy went down. 10-0 texas lead and mccoy and texas with all the confidence, i believe its a different outcome. but it didnt, and it wasnt

First of all:

Gilbert can make a lot of throws that McCoy cannot.

That alone opens the offense up differently.

Secondly:

Along with that, it's like gameplanning against different opponents.

McCoy presents a very average deep threat.
Gilbert has a cannon, so that opens up deeper routes and outs that McCoy can't dream of hitting.

Thirdly:

I wouldn't say 15/40 (37%) and 4 picks is "exposing" anyone.

Gilbert made some nice throws, but give me a break. He pretty much got his arse handed to him all night outside of a couple big plays...

We all know Bama won, but talking hypothetically here.

I was really surprised at the relative ease with which the receivers were getting open vs Bama. I was told that the Utah game was Bama not wanting to be there, but after watching last night I think Bama is just not very good against the spread. The last two times they faced a spread attack at full strength, they got carved up. Last night they are probably down 14-0 if Colt is in there, just MO.

Bamas D got exposed?? WTF game did u watch?

they forced 5 turnovers. 1 for a TD, 1 that might as well have been a TD.

Texas had 2 drives over 50 yards all night

they had only 5 drives all night(out of 18) that didn't go 3 and out or end in a turnover

and one of them was 10 plays, 36 yards for a FG. the first drive of the game.

they had 5 drives that ended with negative yards

got exposed, please....

What were his stats after he calmed down in the 3rd quarter?

If that's the standard for being exposed, I really hope Ole Miss' defense gets exposed all year next year.

There was no throw Gilbert made last night, that McCoy can't throw. Plus, with McCoy being a better short passing specialist, it's gonna open up those deeper throws even more.

The biggest thing is the Bama pass rush. It was nonexistent! They were bringing guys, and no one was getting there. You have to be able to get to McCoy to beat him, and Bama wasn't doing that. Gilbert may have gotten his arse handed to him, but most of us saw that HE was the reason. The only "play" Bama made that I say was them, was the sack and fumble. Other than that, the other turnovers were freshman mistakes that a vet doesn't make, including the shovel pass.

step away from the stats for one second there baloo

they got bitched in the second half and were one drive away from losing to a backup qb making his first ever meaningful appearance

maybe i should have clarified 2nd half, but i figured it was kind of fricking obvious

I never said that, just that he is tremendously overrated. Any number of weak arse, rag arm QBs could put up huge numbers and tons of wins in that flag football conference with Texas' talent. This was his one chance to prove that he deserved a national legacy and he wasn't up to the challenge. Sorry.

What was exposed was the weakness of their secondary. They should not have allowed Shiply/Gilbert to do as much damage as they did.

That really makes you wonder what Colt could have done.

All those stats you just ripped off......came against a team trying to regroup and redefine itself with a new freshman QB in the freakin MNCG.

And yet, they make some huge plays anyways and made a game out of it.

So yeah..Bama's D (especially their secondary) got a little bit exposed last night.

LOL

Oklahoma & Nebraska played better defense against Texas when Texas still had Colt.

Flag football my arse. Get over yourself and your stupid cliches.
