do the ohio state and michigan people not realize that no one gives a shite about their rivalry outside of their states?

I'm not trying to say Michigan osu is better than the iron bowl(same tier), but this cocks fanatic is trying to say it's not that intense, 12 rivalries are better, clemson Usc is better, etc. He's an idiot when it comes to cfb.
You keep throwing out so many different terms to try to make your ignorant arse sound right that it's pathetic kid. Have you ever even been to Alabama? Texas? Oklahoma? Georgia? Tennessee? South Carolina? I'm guessing not. You don't know shite about true intense rivalries. You heard about how UM-OSU was intense back during the Carter administration from your granddad and uncle and think you know truly intense rivalries. You don't know shite about a true hateful rivalry.
I've been to every state in this nation except for Alaska. I've made friends with fans/alumni of every relevant and some irrelevant football schools out there. Hell I've had dozens of different fans live in neighborhoods with me. I've gone to football games in other states in regions around the nation and what the hell have you done? Went to a few games in Ann Arbor and Baton Rouge and think you know something about rivalries? Kid you are way the hell out of your league. What's worse is that you are clearly ignorant and yet you want to keep digging further. I've demonstrated time and time again that you are wrong with the evidence yet you can't understand logic, can't read, or are just plain stupid.
Anyways, I'm done with your foolish arse and I'll let you keep on believing that strippers like you, Santa is real, and UM-OSU is one of the top 3 intense rivalries in college football.

You should pull up those National Title threads of Auburn vs. Oregon and see the Bama fans pulling for Auburn because of...
SEC! SEC! SEC!
I seem to remember "Roll Ducks Roll" way more than this shite.
Where the hell was this?

And people on the West Coast are clamoring for the Iron Bowl?
Sorry to burst your bubble...but no.
Ohio State/Michigan is a far bigger brand to everyone outside of the SEC...which, if you look at a map = larger population of people than the South alone.

It was a dual edge sword really. No one wants to root for their rival, but they also don't want the conference to lose its image. If it was Auburn vs. Georgia, I guarantee you that 99.9% of Alabama fans would have been yelling ROLL DAWGS ROLL. If it was Alabama vs. South Carolina, 99.9% of Auburn fans would have been yelling War Cock Eagle or whatever the hell they chant.

It was on here to the lead up to the game.
And then there were posters who said, WTF is this shite?...and some qualifiers..."I want the SEC to keep the title but it's going to be hard for me to root for the Barners."

I don't THINK you like your pro sports more than your college teams, I KNOW it, because it's true and I've seen it firsthand.
quote:ratings do not have anything to do with how much two schools hate each other. Michigan just won the sugar bowl, they met up ranked 1 and 2 to decide who goes to the big game six short years ago. Rivalries didn't start in 2006.
If it were more nationally relevant, then more people would watch your games and you'd actually be playing in meaningful postseason games like say the national title game.
quote:you are the only poster with your misguided viewpoint, read the thread. Everybody on TD, any sports channel or magazine, or with a grasp on American sports will tell you you're wrong.
I'll give you credit, your delusion is strong.

As a matter of fact, I have both Michigan and Ohio State alums that live in my neighborhood. Oooo your coaches talk trash. Steve Spurrier talks shite to programs he doesn't even play this year. So that's what you are hanging your hat on? Pathetic. We have people who will literally let their daughters whore themselves out to get college football recruits to sign with them (Here's to you Tennessee). As much as people try to ignore it, boosters all over the SEC are forking over tens of thousands of dollars each year for just their football players. Hell some of it is just for spite. You don't get it kid. You grew up in the cesspool that is known as the Midwest. You never will get it. I suggest you shut the hell up and keep your head in the books, because it's obvious you have no idea what the hell you are typing about
Sorry we don't have trailer trash for fans and have an honest program. Once again, this has nothing to do with how much the schools hate each other.
You want this to be a conference vs conference thread, because that's your only talking point. Go to the Rant or a big 10 board if you want to talk up the SEC.

thats the point. no one really cares about a particular rivalry if it doesnt involve their team.

Nobody is implying that other states care. And that's not relevant to the op.
Eta: he doesn't get that I'm saying Michigan Ohio State is still as int3nse of a rivalry as it was back in the day, he has no idea what he is talking about. We still hate each other as much as Bama hates AU.

Program was singular, I was referring to michigan.

You really are a delusional bastard if you think Michigan runs a clean program.
Posted on 8/26/12 at 12:55 am to LowcountryGamecock
im assuming youre talking to the other guy.
other guy, thats the thing though. everyone thinks their rivalry is the most hateful because they are the ones in it

There is no reason to believe it's dirty, but it's just clean enough to not get caught. Who runs a clean program that is borderline relevant if Michigan doesn't?

You know how I know you don't know what you are talking about? You believe that Michigan runs a clean program when you are on probation right now.
ETA: You are out of your mind if you don't think that Michigan has either directly or indirectly been paying players for decades.

You didn't answer my question.
