College football did too. And the fans of the sports loved all of the above for it.

Now, college football is moving alone in making its postseason mimic that of the pros. Time will tell, and maybe I am wrong, but I think it will be a net loss in fans

It just seems almost dumb to watch college football when the pros are the same just better

It’s been a net loss since NIL IMO

I appreciate what OSU just did, I don't want to be a hater, but everyone seems meh about the playoffs now. Like you said, bleeding deep into January kills interest. Maybe it will be riveting in future years, but four rounds after a full season plus CCGs leads to fatigue IMO.

I used to inject my veins with any game I could. FCS playoffs? Sign me up. Ditto for a late night Hawaii-San Jose St contest. The lengthy end of season wore my interest down.

It’ll take some getting used to as far as seeing teams play 16 and maybe 17 games a season.

Bring back the BCS. Keep NIL and have a BCS. It was the best system.
