If you had to ballpark it what % of all the players play only for the highest bidder vs the actual school/coach?

what category do you out the ones who get the money from the school/coach they want to play for anyway?

If by players you mean all D1 college athletes, then your 75% is WAY high and shows you don't know shite.
Even if you're just asking D1 football and basketball players, there's still more simply playing on scholarship for a free education than those opting for the highest bidder in the portal. There's something like 85-100 scholarships every D1 football program can hand out. That's a ton of dudes riding the bench or playing sparingly who will never draw NIL notice but will graduate student loan free.
