Because he doesn't. He has never broken one story ever. He gets people on his show because of the ESPN name. They are not his friends and don't feed him information. Guys like jay glazer have connections. Cowherd hears about shite the same way you and I do.
He had the USC AD, and cowherd was acting like he knew who was on his list. 100% it's not a Carroll guy. I know him and he wants to go with something new blah blah blah. Then they hired sarkisian. If it weren't for the network, athletes and people in power wouldn't give him the time of day.

I listen to his radio show a lot. He always has decent guests on the show, so I assume he hears things.

I guarantee he has some sources, maybe not a ton of great ones but some. To act like he has none is laughable.
