I agree

This is me correcting this IF I was an NFL coach:

"Hey fellas, how bout this, unless I say something different, we're going for one after a TD, ok, just pay attention and DO IT without being told, for ONCE in your miserable lives THINK FOR YOUR SELVES!!"

If by some unimaginable twist of fate you became a NFL head coach and I saw you "gently" say kick team into your mic, I would run onto the sidelines and punch you in the count.

footbal coaches don't like to leave things up to interpretation

quote:

and DO IT without being told, for ONCE in your miserable lives

that's not how the coach-player relationship exists, or has existed, for a long time

Damn. It's easy to tell which dumbasses never played football in their lives before.

Saying kick team in the headset is stupid. why the frick would you say "kick team" into the headset? to tell your QB or MLB or whoever has the mic in their helmet you're kicking an extra point? Oh, I know.....to let the coaches up in the press box know you're kicking an extra point?

Slow is 100% right on the coach-player relationship comment too BTW.

I was just being facetious

ETA: I thought it would be obvious, but hey, thanks to Mustache for the ever-present response of, "I can tell by a person's answer that he is not as intelligent as I think I am."

Garrett raised his hand quickly with the 1, he wasn't running out to the 50 yardline jumping in the air with his hand and screaming "ONE POINT, KICK IT, KICK IT!!!!"

When you get up 10 points against a rival your team gets excited. The way the Cowboys get penalized for celebration year after year, the way they had been getting flagged for delay of game all game. Why in the hell would the coach NOT try and hurry his kick team out there.

Payton, I'm sure, has done the same thing a number of times in his career. You're just going to have to wait a full year to see if he does it again

About the only thing we agreed upon last night.

When I saw it the first thing that went through my mind was Fat Phil Fulmer. His trademark seem to be waiving that index finger in the air after virtually every touchdowns.
