The NFL guys screw it up with clocklike regularity across the board. See Bellichek in the last 2 Super Bowls he was in. And every other coach with the possible exception of perhaps Chip Kelly or the more logical and innovative ones. Haven't watched enough of his games but he doesn't fall victim to assuming status quo rule of thumbs created 60 years ago are optimal just because other idiot coaches do it.

Ok, regular Joe message board poster. I'm positive you would make a fine football coach based solely off your posts here.
Its not a matter of being a better all around football coach. Its a matter of specialization. Why is it not delegated? Other businesses higher accountants, financial analysis, marketers, engineers etc to handle certain elements of an operation. By all accounts, there is no specialization position on statistical analysis in the NFL. There is absolutely no reason to think(and the empirical evidence supports the exact opposite) that coaches are the best clock management/statistical analyses guys. Thats truly not a HUGE part of coaching success. And its certainly not a selected out one. Most fans are too stupid to know themselves, so coaches don't get fired for that like they do an ineffective offense or whatever. Why should the coach be in charge of everything? Even if they always were the most qualified(a notion that Herm Edwards is better at football related clock and statistical analysis than a Analytics grad from a prestigious school), they've got other shite on their mind.
Coaching is an incredibly tough job and thats precisely why this whole situation is unbelievable. Its a massive operation with insufficient delegation on issues like this. A jock with a general Ed degree is expected to do some advanced statistics in his head while worrying about everything else in the game at the same time? Ridiculous. Have some specialization.

No, we speak as if running more than 2 plays from the 1 with 19 seconds and a timeout left when the game is on the line is a pretty easy job. Just because you're too simple minded to understand that, doesn't mean it's not true.

Ok, simple Jack from tropical thunder. I'm positive you don't possess the cognitive ability to either multi-task, delegate, or work in a stressful environment period based solely off your posts here.
I'll also add it's completely comical for you to post this same shite over and over again, yet a quick glance at your post history reveals you bashing Daniel Sams repeatedly. Because you know, play QB at the division 1 level is easy and all, and I'm positive simple jack message board poster would make a fine d1 qb.

I would never claim to know half as much about X's and O's and game planning etc... as any coach coaching at any college level right now so don't put words in my mouth or take it as me saying I could do these guys job. However, I guarantee you one of these epic clock malfunctions would never happen if I was on the sideline.

Alright, bottom line....clock management in football is so easy, Joe Schmo message board guy will convince me that anyone can do it.

The fact that you find his statement so funny and worthy of mocking must mean you think clock management situations are truly difficult. And that says so much about you.

For anyone not watching the Falcons game here we go again. ATL is inside the 5. There are :56 seconds left. Tampa has two timeouts. Use them in case they score you have a chance to win it with a FG.
