Clemson isn't Guaranteed

to keep the # 3 spot in the playoff if they win out.
If Bama doesn't make it to the playoff, the other conference champs all will pick up a good ranked win in their CG that Clemson won't. In 2014 FSU was undefeated and yet two 1-loss teams were ahead of them in the final seeding. Either Utah, if they win, or the Oklahoma/Baylor winner will pass Clemson, who then drops to #4.
Just how bad is Clemson's resume? Here's a quote the the ESPN article linked below.
From an average top-25 team's perspective, Clemson has the 79th most difficult schedule in the FBS, and that's including the conference championship game. That's an easier slate than Southern Miss or Middle Tennessee. An average top-25 team would have a 55% chance to go 12-1 against Clemson's schedule this season. That's how soft it is. For comparison, that same team would have only a 14% chance to go 12-1 against Ohio State's schedule.

Defending champs won’t fall to 4 if undefeated. Especially considering the past few years of their success

Look at Bama. Being a top program with sustained success helps

In 2014 Florida State were the defending champs and the only undefeated team, and yet they ended up being #3, not #1. Teams with better resumes ranked higher.
And 2019 Clemson will have the worst resume of any playoff team yet. It has only the eye test.

Not buying it. So who do they pass, undefeated LSU or OSU?

ACC is garbage. Huge advantage for Clemson. They can start prepping for playoffs well before other playoff teams. Clemson wasn’t that much better than Bama last year. Bama had to prep for UGA and then OU while Clemson skated through ACC championship and Notre Dame. Clemson essentially had a 20 day head start to prep for Bama.

This is somewhat legit. Even the coaching staff said the didnt spend 10 minutes on Motre Dame and focused exclusively on Bama and a smaller amount in Oklahoma the entire time.

Can you supply the source for this? I have never heard this one.

Are you REALLY trying to say that if Clemson wins out and is acc champ that they will be left out? Are you retarded?
Posted on 11/29/19 at 12:42 pm to Bucks2TigerFan
Basically the entire offense is back from the National Title team and the revamped defense (who got a ton of playing time last season) hasn’t shown any signs of dropping off. This team is waaaay better than the one that went to the semifinals two years ago and just as good as last year’s team.

Is reading comprehension an issue for you?
Where did I say that? I said they drop to #4.

I cant take a guy seriously when he has 2 favorite college football team so I didnt know you were being serious.

If they looked like 2014 FSU then maybe they could fall to 4 but they have looked dominant almost all year so no lower than 3 seed for them.

Well after tomorrow’s game against SCar, we’ll have another common opponent to reference with UGA.
