New York City!! The biggest city in America and it doesnt have a bowl game? Not only should it have a bowl game...it should have a BCS bowl game. New York City during the holiday season is a once in a lifetime experience. Rockefeller Center, Statue Of Liberty, Times Square, World Trade Center Memorial, Broadway, Macy's....i mean come on, New York has it ALL!! Play the game in the new Meadowlands or Yankee Stadium. Call it the Empire State Bowl, Big Apple Bowl or New York City Bowl! Its screaming for a B1G/SEC tie in!! Finally the B1G would get a game in the cold weather against the SEC! Why hasnt this happend? I mean Mobile and Shreveport have games and NYC doesnt?

Chicago should as well! Call it the Windy City Bowl. The only drawback to Chicago is that Soldier Field is small!

Doesn't NY have a bowl game? Pretty sure there was one in Yankee Stadium last year.

I like having the bowl in Detroit

I agree about dumping Shreveport and having games in Seattle and Denver. Seattle had a bowl for a while, but couldn't maintain sponsorship IIRC. Chicago would be cool too

I don't think the cold is a problem if people are willing to host a December bowl in Boise.

Boise has very mild winters. It doesn't get as cold as its location might have you think.

You are correct. LINK

Weird that they already have the teams for 14 and 15.

Denver

For one, it's cold as balls. Sure Boise makes it work, I guess, but you would have very little local interest to sit outside in the cold for 4 hours for a game with nothing vested.

Depending on the tie ins, it's very hard to get to other than by plane with increases costs a great deal. Outside of neighboring states its a minimum of 12 hours from Dallas, 15 from Phoenix, etc.

I used to work with a guy at the Denver Chamber and he once told me they kicked the idea around about 15 years ago and it was way too much risk economically.

They should play a football game on a navy ship like they did with basketball.

The armed forces bowl should not be moved out of Fort Worth. Did you ever wonder why it's called Fort Worth?

It actually wasn't really a fort, just a frontier outpost that became a settlement on the Chisholm cattle trail. There's very little actual military history in Fort Worth, with the most significant military ties coming from Carswell Air Force Base, which is now a Joint Reserve Base.

The bowl is in Fort Worth because Bell Helicopter is in Fort Worth and they pay for it. Lockheed is also in Fort Worth and has been a sponsor, and many active military attend the game (as they do games involving the academies against TCU).
