64 YEARS OLD

This, combined with the fact that he already has a contender right now. His team won impressively at Oregon yesterday, something OSU failed to do last year. He likely will beat Penn State on November 8th. Reminds me a little of the “Saban to Texas” rumors 10 years ago. Not saying IU is Bama, but there’s no reason for an ageing man to leave something that’s already working.

He looks pretty good for 64, and he's getting it done in a football backwater.

If I were Cignetti at this stage in life, I’d stick around at the place that finally gave me my opportunity at this level.

I’ve got something real good building and a great chance of leaving a legacy where my name will be spoken of in legendary ways.

I’ve also built myself a lot of good will and trust that if I eventually stumble for a year or two, they’ll stick by me because I’ve already taken them somewhere they’d never been.

Or….. I can be tempted by some extra dollars at traditional football factory U and have a chance to become the next “real good coach” who maybe (maybe) added a Natty or two ….if things really broke my way in these next 6 or 7 years.

Or, I could drop a few tough games or stub my toe against a coupla teams I shouldn’t for 2-3 years and they’ll be calling for my arsse and coming with the pitchforks…..Because that’s how it is at a football factory U and they won’t give a shite there and then what I’m doing at Indiana now.

At Cig’s age, I know what I’d do.

Will be interesting to see what he actually does.

Dude money speaks louder than loyalty

He already makes 8 million a year and is in year 2 of an 8 year contract. He’s making plenty of money already.

Only if he finishes this current Husker campaign on a (nationally) noticeable high note would I think they make a serious play for him.

A three (or more) loss season and a trip to the Weedeater Bowl won’t cut it as far as drawing serious attention from PSU and their big-money boosters.

Guy would in no way be a long term fit for UF
we haven’t fired Billy and he’s likely coming back next year so not sure why this is mentioned
