LOS ANGELES — Barring an unforeseen setback, Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul plans to make his return to postseason action for Game 3 on Thursday of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Paul underwent a cardio exam Wednesday morning and passed, which is the final step to clearing the league’s health and safety protocols, sources said. Paul has been in the protocols since June 16.

The 36-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 last week despite having been vaccinated, sources said.

frick all of these stupid professional sports leagues.

Testing someone that has been vaccinated and has no symptoms because of contact tracing, even if he has been "exposed," is beyond fricking retarded at this point.

He's not sick. Let him play sports.

I guess the question needs to be asked:

If the Suns go on to lose the series after being up 2-0 without him, how big of a hit does his legacy take?

I would file a grievance with league for making him sit when he had been vaccinated

well because the vaccine is not 100% effective. There is a chance to still get the Covid after being vaccinated. that is what happened here. Unfortunate situation for CP.

This may prove to be good for the Suns in the long run. They still won the first 2 games without Paul, building that young team's confidence even more. Now Paul is back for the road games and Kawhi's return is still up in the air, and I'd imagine Paul was able to give that shoulder a break as well.

I know the Clips came back from 0-2 in both their other series but it feels like they're much further behind the eight ball this time around

Based on the timeline, it basically a guarantee that he actually had COVID, as I understand it.

So you're saying we're going to be doing this stupid testing protocol shite for the next 5 years?

No? We're not?

Then why are we doing it now? It's retarded.
