Apparently Chip never told his assistants. They found out on twitter and from reporters

Maybe he didn't have a chance to tell his assistants prior to someone running to their computer or phone.

He's already said like 1000 times in interviews that if he ever went to the NFL he would change his system. It wouldn't be the exact same one as from Oregon.

Now we get to hear about great Oregon was and how great he will be in the NFL. Did he win a NC or something?

I'm sure it's already been mentioned in this thread but either Philly made Kelly a Godfather Offer or he got wind that the NCAA will be charging into Eugene in the near future wielding a Flaming Sword.

Also Monte Kiffin might be looking for a chair & noose at the moment.

Exactly. As posted earlier, he'll probably run a pto offense at a very fast pace (see New England) with a little read option mixed in.

you have to know to tell your assistant before you accept the position

rookie move is that was not the case

And you must be at a dead end job if that's your attitude.

oh okay. I just couldn't imagine him running a lot of read/option with Vick. Not unless he wants to have his QB broken in half.

And if some staffer got on his smartphone and notified the press as they saw Kelly get off the phone or sign a deal?

Point is that it's pretty silly to attack a guy for not informing his staff "in time" in this day and age.

which is why it's not bad.

eagles fans cringe at the thought of vick returning. dude is always hurt any was. why not trade for one of these guys without giving up much of anything?

you want him to draft a qb in this pathetic class? who your boy geno smith? he will be gone before they pick imo.

how about trade vick to reid at kc and draft geno.

people say geno isnt a runner.. but chip doesnt really run his qbs.. he gets the ball out quick and runs a little option. i do like geno here. chip is more about his scat backs and spreading the ball around.

Robinson twins have "opened up their commitment" --USC and ND are the two they have in mind, for now.

no one is going to trade away draft picks to build depth which the eagles need. Better to wait and see if either team dumps them.

geno would get killed in philly but will be in KC anyway.

you tell the staff that you are going to accept BEFORE you accept. it's not that difficult
