Heh, sort of.
Also depends on the sport and it's popularity and the economic situation.
Look at the Islanders who had the worst attendance in the NHL this year with some young star players and a playoff team.
Avs were 27th, and they used to have strong, strong attendance.
Just part of it.

The replay was pretty clear.

I'm not doubting that he got hit in the face with a stick, but I am reacting to the way he went down - took like 3 strides after getting hit in the face. He didn't have to go down, but he did in order to get the call.

Welcome to the playoffs. The last time Chimera did it, the puck was in air. Play to the whistle.
What about the time he whacked Henrik's glove? Should have been a penalty. I'm not bitching about that particular instance, but there is a difference between playing hard and playing dirty. The Caps definately surf that line.
On another note, really impressed that Ovechkin is actually playing defense this year. Much better all around team player than in years past.
Hell of a series!

OMG, what is Capuano's story? He sounded kind of Jersey Shore guido, but with a south Boston twist.
Islanders on the board.
Islanders on the board.

complete garbage officiating tonight. fricking pathetic.
These refs need to be taken out back and summarily executed. complete disgrace.

Refs have been awful.
Call on Cooke was trash.
Just keep killing them and get back to our game.
