I mean you can't keep making excuses for the guy at the plate over and over though his whole career.

When is he going to be old enough to stop giving him the benefit of the doubt?

When Heyward is batting like .240 at age 30 with about 4 HR's, will that finally be the time people stop overrating him?

You act like 27 with 6 years in the League is really young when in this day and age it really isn't.

You should tell us more how much more valuable Heyward is than Piscotty and how all these teams would not even think twice and take Heyward. You should also post the incorrect salary of your RF some more. All this in a sports thread...but yeah, Im thoroughly embarrassed for not knowing the proper definition of a "meme".

I sited my resources. It's not like I picked a number out of my head. But I really can't blame you for being upset about big time free agents actively avoiding playing for your team. I'll enjoy watching Heyward bring in another gold glove. Just be sure to root for us in the playoffs.

I get having hope and rooting for the guy, Heyward is a good dude.

But take away that he is on the Cubs, take away who he is as a person for a minute and look at it objectively.

If a player has been in the MLB for 6 seasons, across 3 different teams, and is still slashing .225/.306/.315, how long can you really keep expecting him to develop into anything decent at the plate?

I mean he may not be this season bad, but the power is never coming at this point, but he may be able to hit around .250 or .260 and swipe some bags with good defense. Still nowhere near worth his contract, but would be manageable for the Cubs and some other teams.

Pretty easily when his career stats are significantly higher. By your logic, Bryce Harper will never be able to hit for average again because he's hitting .233 this year.

Bryce Harper is also 23, and hits for power with a .374 OBP.

According to your logic, Harper will continue to perform like this and his reputation as a hitter to be feared will diminish. Pitchers will get more aggressive thus he'll earn less walks from careful pitching/intentional walks. It's all correlation.

What an idiotic comparison. I like how you leave out that Harper has also hit 20 home runs and 57 RBI, while playing with a shoulder injury.

Where? I simply applied your dumbass logic to Harper instead of Heyward since they're both underperforming in relation to their career averages.

You spout a lot BS. Cards fans are not even remotely sad or upset that Heyward went to the Cubs for whatever reason it was.

You just seem to be backpedaling a lot. Shitty opinion, incorrect facts. Just a bunch of waving the hands and cardinals suck nonsense. I have been complementary of the Cubs all season. You all have a good club. You may want to try to have a discussion with the adults or if not, go play your Xbox.

That's on ESPN, if they're even wrong at all. For all we know you're the one who's got the bad source.

You must be failry young.
Go look up Heywards contract on a reliable site.

Good game to the other Cubs fans. Thorough arse kicking.
