The media is all over Greinke's dick. Perks of playing in LA, I guess. With the cons being fans that show up late, leave early, and don't show up at all when the team isn't a contender.

3 hit shutout thru 8. The guy just doesn't give up runs. ERA now sits at 1.88. Unreal

So, does anyone think Arrieta actually wins the Cy Young? He's obviously going to be in the top 3, likely top 2. I just hope voters are paying attention to his second half...it has been a very long time since a pitcher has put up numbers like this.

i am sure they will give it to a Dodger. if the cubs were in first place in the central jake would win, which is silly because cubs have a better record than dodgers but I think that is exactly what will cost him

Yea, I agree. He's definitely worthy.

I heard two Dodgers being in contention will hurt both of them because they will split the votes. Greinke and Kershaw will hurt each other.

Homer aside, Greinke has better numbers. His ERA is 1.65, he has 12 less walks, 7 less hits given up, but has one less start too. Where Arrieta has the edge is K's. Arrietta has almost 30 more k's than Greinke.

the cubs were going down hill after the all star break and he stopped that. remember, this is a really young team that has gotten into slumps and when that has happened, he has pulled them out. all of the talk about lester, but jake has been the man. also, he reminds me a little bit of matt forte, very humble and he has little media presence, which I also think hurts him

Any chance arrieta skips a start down the stretch?

He threw a lot of pitches tonight

I'd hate to see it affect his chances, but gotta think big picture
