Wow! That's says an aweful lot. The fact that he is in the 2 hole says even more. I'm speechless and extremely excited at the same time if that makes any sense.

Big time hit! Shitty base running. That's a young team for you.

This may sound crazy, but Schwarber may be a better hitter than we thought. Looks like they want to improve his catching on the fly. I'm perfectly fine with the growing pains.

Um.not really. Most scouts are grading him as a 70 hitter. Dude can flat out hit.

Schwarber's bat is so advanced he might be the best hitting catcher outside of Posey. However, he is probably not ready to command a staff.

I'll give credit where credit is due and you all have been saying it for a while. I knew he was a plus bat but my goodness! Just hard to fathom.

Yes.
The amazing thing is that I don't ever remember Jackson pitching well during his time with the Cubs. I'm sure he may have had a good start here and there, but as far as a continued stretch of solid pitching, I don't recall

Sort of Cubs related....did anyone see Cole Hamels today? He was 0-4 in his past 8 starts with a 4+ ERA and lasted 3 innings today giving up 8 hits and 5 ER.

I don't think it changes anything regarding his value. I still want Hamels a lot.

I would much rather pay a lot for 3-4 years of Hamels than have to sign David Price to a fricking 7-8 year, 200+ million deal.

I agree with this. 7-8 years is a long time for a pitcher. Most cases you're lucky to get 2-3 good years out of it

I agree with that 100%. I do think his value takes a hit if his next couple of starts are bad. I'm sure they will find a happy medium between him and a 200 million dollar Price.

Barry Zito. That's what I think about every time someone signs a long term deal with a pitcher.
