just curious as to why they haven't come out now.

People typically have way many more and varied reasons to not come out than to come out. The pressure of such a move is something you nor I will never understand.

Meaning they should go ahead and jump on the "gay b-ball" bandwagon? Maybe these guys don't care for the attention, IDK.

being former NBA players, I would think someone would have gotten the scoop on them...who knows? I don't really care.

Well, we can hold God to the standard we want him to be and make him completely understandable to ourselves or we can accept that the creator is who he has revealed himself to be through scripture
Like I said, I've never heard and would honestly like to hear a viable explanation for some of the ridiculous stuff(like the stuff I mentioned above) in these scriptures.

Surely, you can understand how that can be somewhat confusing and off-putting if it's never been explained.

His name is now forever etched in sports history in what has been an overwhelmingly positive story. He has been lauded by the President, the biggest names in his sport, and every major media outlet in the country. I'm happy he came out and I support gay marriage. But I don't think for a second that this wasn't somewhat calculated on his part.
I know it's been discussed before and you're right in what you said, but if he does not get signed, I don't see how he's any different than Amaechi.

The guy who plays after coming out IMO will be the true pioneer.

The people who question his motives are the same people who are uncomfortable with the story. I don't think it's a coincidence.

It certainly can. And it takes a lot of study to try to understand it as even many orthodox Christians have disagreements regarding scripture.

I'm not denigrating you, just trying to at least provide a fair representation of Christianity as it seems very misunderstood on this issue (mostly the fault of some Christians using scripture as a scapegoat of their own bigotry).

This. But I think what Charles was alluding to was he played with guys who had come out to their teammates just not publicly. So yes, this person will be a pioneer from the media standpoint.

Read a story about a guy that was out in MLB back in the 70's or early 80's I believe, but the press didn't know what to do with it so they just ignored it.

We've established I don't know much about the coming out process. Just thought something would have come out about them by now with the way the world works.

Don't seem to like the fact that a player came out.

I don't know I think some people (myself included) are just cynical bt nature. Like I said I'm glad he did it (regardless if his motives were completely pure)

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I always find it interesting when African-Americans take the "I'm black so of course I'm going to be inclusive because I've been excluded" position in regards to homosexuality. Homosexuality is an incredibly contentious issue in the African-American community, so it doesn't really connect for me.
