daniels can be moved, peja cant. but either way, you arent going to dump your primary points scorer just because

i agree
his days are definitely numbered

how do you figure that. this team isnt going to replace dwest without bringing in someone that can replace his points rebounds and minutes. you see any of those guys floating around right now for cheap?
you do realize that we wouldnt be trading them straight up
we have 11 million in expirings. it wont just be west

so let me see if ive got this...in order to save money we would dump our best scorer and some other trash in order to pick up another scorer? alot of 20/10 guys hanging around out there as trade bait?
getting rid of west in NO way makes this team better

WTF are you guys talking about? Shinn and Weber and Bower and Scott have all said publicly in the last 5 months that CP3 and West are untouchable.
How does this move change that? We're actually shaving a million bucks off this year's salary.
There is no way to spin this move negatively. It's brilliant. It's one of those "WOW WHAT THE frick WAS TEAM B (CHARLOTTE) THINKING???" trades that my team never seems to be on the right side of.
West fits great with Okafor. He didn't fit great with Tyson.

b scott said himself they were looking for someone with the flexibility to play 4 or 5. okefor gives them that. You could trade west for a 4 or 5 + a lessar 3. Hornets fans big complaint has been lack of athletic ability. Imagine a west for a Tyrus Thomas + whatever we could add to the bench. Would be a big change in athletic ability in the lineup.

These guys are obviously talking out of their arse.
They can't stand to see that the Hornets are actually - despite all odds - doing what they promised to do which is try to contend with the current nucleus.

WHY is this stupid rumor still floating around? it makes no sense for the hornets? tyrus thomas is not going to score points for us like dwest does. if you lose west you have to replace his scoring. where are those 20 points a night going to come from?

They're thinking they don't want to spend max contract money the next 5 years for a guy who isn't an all star. There are certainly positives for both teams in this trade, but this isn't exactly Pau Gasol for a bag of shite.

I think people are just trying to figure out where this trade come from. It came out of nowhere, and it does not fit with what the FO has been saying their intentions were. I really don't think it has anything to do with people "not wanting to see the Hornets succeed."

FALSE...The FO has been saying since the 1st round exit that they will make basketball moves not salary moves...no one believed them until this

So I'm not a huge fan of this trade, but I'd be lying if I said some of the Hornets moves haven't gotten me excited for next year. Still don't think they're a great team, but it will be interesting to see how Okafor and West play together and whether CP3 gives Okafor a bump in his numbers. The draft the Hornets had did a lot for their bench, especially if Thornton can score in the NBA. I wish they could add one decent big for the bench.

Shocking. All the armchair GMs, in reality, had no clue what was going on.

hornets could still make a move for hakim warrick or big baby possibly

Right, because when your owner says stuff like "we have no business being over the luxury tax," that screams "we're making basketball moves."

I'm not really sure what you are intending to say with this, I'm just trying to put the speculation of them moving another person into context.

Warrick would be awesome (and probably not that expensive). I love Davis, but he'll command more money and I don't think hes going to be much better than what you saw this year. Don't like the idea of buying high on him.

The two aren't mutually exclusive, as proved by their moves this offseason.

get the frick off your high horse and quit patronizing me
its very simple
this team is not going to win with the hot garbage that is daniels, brown, and all the other crap we have, and there will be teams that would be interested in the expiring deals, as well as teams that would be interested in acquiring posey or west
nobody is untradeable. if you are a good gm nobody is ever untradeable
