damn! i can't believe i am missing this match!!!! replay will not do it justice. sucks for cesc missing the trip to camp nou, and arsenal's gonna have to win this game! i don't think they have a shot at the return unfortunately.

Can someone tell me what adjustment Wenger made once Denilson came on the pitch? Are they really playing only 3 defenders with 2 stoppers right now, being Song and Denilson?
Posted on 3/31/10 at 2:35 pm to ATLienTiger
Song is going to center back.

Thanks. I really don't know if that is better than having Sol come in or not though? Denilson is more offensive than Song at CDM, but Sol is definitely better and more experienced on the last line of defense than Song.

Yeah I feel comfortable with Song at CB, but I don't feel good with Denilson replacing Song.

0-0 at the half in the Inter CSKA match as well

I'm the opposite, only because Arsenal needs a goal, and that would never come from Song. Where as, Denilson has that quality in him. But yes, against Barca I would most definitely have Song between Xavi and goal than Denilson. The good thing though is that when Arsenal gains possession(not often enough) Denilson is a better distributor than Song.
One thing I am worried about though, is that on all these counters they are showing on the replay both Nasri and Diaby are slacking in tracking back. Nasri is not really excused, but he has an obligation to be in the final third on the attack, so I can see him not sprinting back. Diaby; however, should be trying to beat Xavi and most certainly Alves back on defense in his own third.

I'm really suprised with almunia. All i heard on the lead up was that Almunia was shite. Lets hope he switches off at the half

I really would have liked to see Fabregas at the Camp Nou
Posted on 3/31/10 at 2:45 pm to tigerking765
The thing with Almunia is that he will have two or three straight horrendous performances and then have one magnificent outing that keeps him in the #1 kit.

As I said in my pre-game analysis, he has great games and he has howlers...that's the only reason he still has a job. That's about the only thing you should read in my post though...haha

Probably because Arsenal just dropped crucial points this past weekend in the League due to poor play. But, the outlook now is not nearly as bleak, since Rooney has suffered an injury.

correct me if I'm wrong, but every shot but Busquets's was straight at him. he has been efficient in that he's parried or caught balls that have come more or less right at him.
I wouldn't call his performance amazing or anything, just efficient.

I think we've seen one so far, I just want to score now!

Come on Sagna, and Nasri. The goal is going to have to come from your offensive contributions boys.
