However, once upon a time , 2 teams from the SEC played in the NC game.

They were put there by opinions. Oklahoma State should have played LSU for that *championship, not Alabama.

I’m happy about this. Just wish they’d cut the shite and say it’s because there aren’t many playoff worthy teams.

great thing about 4 is if you go undefeated in a P5 conference, you get in.

Nd undefeated.
P12 undefeated

B12 undefeated

Ya still think so?

Easy enough. Notre Dame isn't in a P5.

Pac-12
SEC
Big 12
ACC

Problem solved.

I can't wrap my head around the thought process these morons who don't want an expanded playoff.

the only reason I hear them give is they don't want to lessen the importance of the regular season....which is stupid. You'd probably have more teams willing to schedule better OOC games with an expanded field, making the regular season better. Cupcake weekends are an abomination.

If you give auto bids to conference champs, you instantly increase the importance of the regular season.

I've said it before, but ultimately you should let the conferences decide how they want to select their champion for the field of 8. Let the committee/computers pick the remaining 3 spots. Throw a bone to G5 schools if they're a conference champ and ranked in the Top 8 they're automatically in.

then the conferences should also end divisional play. The big 10 east vs west is a joke.

I don't understand why they haven't looked into this.

He should've said:

Pac 12
Big 10
Big 12
SEC
ACC

All undefeated, who gets in?

All one loss conference champions, who gets in?

They system is far from perfect.

The only team with a legit gripe is Georgia, and they have two losses. Four has been enough every year.

If that ever happens, we're in no worse shape than we are now.

I never said it was. I was just addressing his question.

My system gets rid of divisions, takes P5 champs, and whoever is highest in the computers from everyone else, including Notre Dame.

They shouldn’t have gotten skull fricked by LSU then.

The system is broken because you are using subjective factors to determine a champion.

How can there be so called "Power 5" conferences yet you want to determine a champion by 4 teams playing in a playoff?

How can anyone claim Michigan is the "#1 defense" all season yet they gain their ranking by playing shitty Big10 offenses? Oklahoma is the "#1 offense" but they play shitty Big 12 defenses yet we want to crown them as the best?

9 conference games. No conferences champ games. 8 teams in playoff. Power 5 conference winners get in with 3 at large bids. Much more rational.

So we go to tiebreakers then? That'd be weird in conference where nearly half the teams don't play each other.

Debates good?

SOooooo nothing has really changed in the 100 years of the sport.

We're still always going to debate who was the real champion forever and ever.

Gotcha committee chairman.
