Current Vegas odds say Miami isn't out of it. It's like 40%

Right that’s kinda how I’m basing it myself. Notre Dame is basically a lock on the betting sites, Alabama is in, and Miami is not.

This is the one of the other alternatives I could see. But I dont see how you could not bump Bama atleast one after that performance and then have Miami jump from 12 to 9 despite both them and ND not playing.

And that is for any conference correct?
Not the Yalta Conference.

I've always heard you can't penalize a team for losing their conference championship game. I'm betting the committee does it to BYU but not Alabama and then that places ND and Miami next to each other and they go with the head-to-head winner.

We'll see what happens.

I think that Duke win was horrible for Bama too. Committee will probably put Miami in since they will want ACC represented. It’s all political. It will then come down to Bama and Notre Dame for final spot.

Ive also heard that but then saw UGA lose by one score to Bama and go from 1 to 5 and TCU that one year to drop from 2 to 3 when they lost in OT in their conference championship. Probably another example or two that apply maybe Penn State last year as well?

Yeah but last year, the rule was the top four seeds had to go to conference champions so they had to drop UGA to 5.

All good, im just saying in theory they say it doesnt hurt you but they've shown otherwise both by seeding and by whos in and who's out.

Miami couldn't even play their way into this game?

They lost a tie breaker. Had same record as Duke in conference. It happens.

Just like Bama won a tie breaker to play in the SECCG while better teams Ole Miss and A&M had to stay at home.

The answer here is so obvious to me it’s mind boggling that it is even a remote debate.

Miami and Notre Dame are 10-2 with nearly identical SOS. Miami BEAT notre dame. We cannot let feelings override on field results. What the frick are we even doing here? Miami CLEARLY should be over Notre dame.

Bama lost to a 5-7 Florida state team by 2 touchdowns that Miami beat. They have 3 losses. Again what the frick are we even doing here?
