It isn't set in stone. But possible losses to FSU, Auburn, LSU. All three isn't happening. Two is possible, one is probable, zero losses is possible.
Then a let down in the SECCG and bam we're out of it.
I just don't see our defense being that good (relative to past Bama teams, not the nation). We relied so heavily on pass rushing and NOTs this past year, and I don't think we're going to be nearly as effective at it this year.
Our linebacker core is talented, but behind Evans and Hamilton, is pretty raw. Our Dline group is talented, but behind Payne and Hand, is raw. Our secondary has Fitzpatrick and Harrison, but last year they still got burned by Clemson.
Basically we're not going to be able to pressure like we did last year, and our secondary always has trouble covering.
I also am not on the Hurts train. I don't believe there has been some sort of magical transformation in his passing abilities. Our Oline and Running backs are awesome, but CFB isn't built that way any more. We need a passing game.
So while it is entirely possible Alabama proves me wrong, I think the losses we sustained on defense will hit harder than most realize.
