Arizona kicks a FG now just down 18-6

Maimi put the game back in striking range but is now letting Cal go right down the field.

If any late nighter follow NFL, don’t forget Minny vs Jets overseas starts at 0830

So Georgia 16?
That unwritten rule is dumb.

It’s not an unwritten rule. That’s how standings are written to work in every league and division

Arizona with a turnover, gets the ball back in good field position. On the Tech 15.

What did I miss? Why did they take Mendoza out?
Posted on 10/6/24 at 12:22 am to Jrv2damac
Benching your starting QB for a drive while up by 17 is a decision

It’s dumb unless it’s the only difference, and even then it’s still pretty goofy.
If that game is in Athens UGA wins. The idea that Alabama has to stay ahead of UGA if their records stay the same is a ridiculous policy.

That’s what I was thinking

There’s nothing more bs than 2 teams with the same record and the one that won h2h being ranked lower, which has happened before and I wouldn’t be surprised if it does again
Actually, BS would be relying on a single data point to the exclusion of all others. You actually make a case against your own argument by including the qualifier “with the same record”.
No doubt, head-to-head it’s important and in some cases it should be decisive. But it’s not absolute.

Well it’s how playoff teams are determined in every division of every sport. Head to head is the tiebreaker. As it stands UGA and Bama have the same record with the h2h going to Bama. Bama is ahead in the SEC standings and would make the SEC championship over Georgia

Reece Davis sounds like death

Arizona manages only a FG after that turnover. Not good.

UGA is actually ahead in the SEC standings.

They’ve played one more game I guess.
If they both win out, Bama is ahead. This is very short sighted and would change how sports have always worked if we did it this way. I can’t even believe people are actually arguing against head to head, the zeal to pile on has made you crazy

Man, who is the DB coach for Cal. That group has been impressive this game.

By this logic, Ole Miss should’ve gone to the SEC Championship in 2003, as LSU had a significantly worse loss to 8-4 Florida. I really don’t think you are thinking this through

It’s weird hearing Rece Davis during a SAD time slot. He sounds so tired
