Not much talk about what Central has done in only two years with Coach Sid, as well as being in control of their own schools.

For those that do not know, Central broke away from the EBRPSS by incorporating and becoming a City. IMO, it is proof of what can be accomplished via a "Neighborhood School" philosophy, minus forced busing and the depletion of local talent. And its only the beginning of a process where Jr. leagues and Middle schools become "Feeder Programs" to the local High School. All of the successful programs have utilized this philosophy for years. This is IMPOSSIBLE if your school is part of a huge public system like the one they separated from.

One step closer to being on an equal playing field as Private Schools.............

Getting a coach from the Private school ranks that knows how to get players helps too.

Ironically Central is just following the Sid Edward's/private school blueprint that you preach against.

I wasn't preachin against it brother, just always was always hollering about what a dis-advantage the Public Schools in "bussing systems" were at.

Having control of your schools both academically and in athletics is a far cry from taking what somebody else gives you and making the most of it...........

I still can't believe that Central beat Acadiana the other night. It was painful to watch Acadiana get shut down like that. BTW how is the white QB for Central? He got pretty banged up the other night.

Will Briscoe, got knocked out by a forearm to the back of the head while he was wrapped up and defenseless (not saying it was a cheap shot). Mild Concussion, but he is fine...........

now, i watched the central-acadiana game on cox and looked pretty closely at the central players .. that wasn't a "typical" central team on the field ... mr. edwards has done a little recruiting ..

sid did the same thing at redemptorist .. in year number two, the team looked totally different ..

We got kids that live in our district, but were "skirting" the system to play elsewhere or going to Private Schools to come to Central.

Redemptorist, Parkview and Catholic still have some prominent players on their rosters from Central tho...............

From what I hear there are upwards of 20 kids on that team that could be classified as questionable Central Residents.

Is it true that a black athlete can claim residence where his grandparents live but not the white athlete?

I'm an outsider so I don't understand the issue. They set up a seperate school district for kids from Central only. What's the big deal? Doesn't sound evil or out of whack at all? Also doesn't sound like a revolutionary idea either.

Bro, you can be frickin Purple and do this and it doesn't even have to be kinfolk..........one way of "skirting" the system. But, if you are a Private School, it doesn't matter where the hell you live.

We incorporated a City, with its own School District, such that we could be in control of our schools. The local public school system in the BR area is ridiculous and has been for 30 plus years............
