A championship? Giving your team a much needed upgrade that would help your championship cause is considered "no point"?

Also, Amare's deal was up at the end of the year, just like James. So there was nothing to lose, other than Hickson.

Just unreal that 1 year later they move him after refusing to move him for Amare. Yikes.

I totally agree, Shel. I know it was widely rumored, but was it ever actually confirmed that the Cavs did turn down this trade based solely on the untouchability of Hickson? As a (former lol) Cavs fan, I actually didn't mind not doing the deal because I thought Amare's knees were shot and I thought (and still do) that JJ might turn into an All-Star. To give him up so soon after is really kinda mind-boggling.

But JJ was a 1-and-done in college, where I believe he was a pretty good scorer, so he's still 22/23 with a ton of upside. And the best thing about him maybe is how hard he plays. If he works that hard off the court, the Cavs might really regret this decision. But I have no idea who they got in return or how deep the next year's draft is. I'd imagine the Kings could be picking in the lottery again.

i think they will

he showed a lot of promise at the end of last year

the cavs basically thought the grass was greener SOLELY b/c they drafted a 4 high in the draft

i don't know if anybody thinks their rookie 4 will be as good as hickson, but the cavs have to start marketing around their young core. so you trade hickson for a young/inferior 3, get a draft pick, and market the new team

classic franchise mistake.

Scott wanted him out, plus his contract is up and he wanted a max deal. I would of held out for more, but his days in Cleveland were numbered.

But Hickson IS their young core.

Not that Gilbert is not horrible, but they really got screwed that they had the #1 and #4 picks in this draft of all drafts.

That was a horrible puck with the 4th pick in the draft.

Also James and Amare would have worked well together.

The thing the Heat haven't figured out is how James and Wade should play together on tue court. If the Heat traded Wade for Paul or a superstar C they would be way better.

This is stupid. Both Lebron and Wade need the ball in their hands...a PG who dominates the ball is the last thing that they need. Did MJ ever have an elite PG? How about Kobe?

Trading Wade for Paul is not what they need to do.

Chris Paul and James could probably actualy complement each other while Wade is too similar to James. Chris Paul is also a good shooter.
