You will quote to use out of context. Isn’t that cheating?
When you have kids old enough to post, you’ll want them to debate intelligently. Circle of life.

Well that’s a first for the thread, so I’ll give you that.
Funny the Catholic playbook has turned to...... “it was all for the kids.”

No, I quoted your words. Be intelligent enough to not have your words used against you.

Holy shite. You literally cut off a sentence and tried to twist it. You’re like the Jen Psaki of this thread.

“you’re” is the correct word there

I just dont care enough about LHSAA rules compared to giving a kid with athletic ability the necessary support to be sure he can use his talent to its most potential. I would much rather Catholic get Clyde E-H into Catholic and ensure that he is academically eligibly for NCAA and give him a better chance at life after football. When the alternative is him go to Scotlandville and maybe get caught up in the wrong crowd and get a poor education. CEH and many others are great kids and great athletes, why not allow them to make the most of it in a better environment? CHS clearly broke the rule, that doesnt make the rule less stupid.

the corrupt governing body is making the arbitrary rules,
Why we have the rules is because, for every game you win, and people think better about your team and school, someone has to lose, and people think the opposite about theirs.
That’s why the competition needs to be as fair as possible. They would love for every school to have a totally random enrollment, even if that won’t happen.

Oh no, you’re going to grammar. Sounds like you’re ready to take the L.
As a middle age man obsessed with Catholic High, this is big step for you.

Why didn’t you choose Guice as your example?

A Catholic High grad should know grammar.......unless you were recruited for athletics

Lets use Guice then, had he not gone to CHS he never would have made it to LSU and been given a chance. His fault he squandered the chance. CHS clearly tried to support him but that doesnt mean they shouldnt support other kids??

Give it a rest
It wasn’t “for the kid.”
It was for football. You Bears are hilarious

Most kids go to public school with little choice. Plenty of schools have pride that goes beyond athletics. Secondly, if you’re a private school, raise more money. Invest.
Athletics should never be a reason most individuals choose a high school if they are fortunate to get that choice ...but for those recruited, they should go to the best for them. Best facilities best tutors, best coaching. It could mean a world difference for their future.
Every kid recruited to big programs are better off. End of story.

If it was only for football then CHS wouldnt also recruit kids for academics. Chs recruits kids for both purposes because the goal is to help those with potential and are willing to work hard. If that potential is atheltics or academics who care? Unless the outcome is your kid losing a football game, then I suppose you care lol.

So now the argument is, "CHS is such a good school, theyre just trying to help out these poor kids, rules be damned?" CHS should start a charity school where they can help out more underprivileged potential students who dont increase the school's bottom line in the form of football.
Posted on 6/24/21 at 1:14 pm to redstickrick
It doesn’t matter what you think the rules “should be.” As I said before, if private schools want a free for all throughout the state, form another association.

Exactly. A bunch of hypocrites

You can only explain it to them. You can’t understand it for them.

Yes, and most importantly it’s a moral one.

Plenty of kids go on scholarship/financial aid who aren’t academically or athletically outstanding.
