Of course the LHSAA is working to mend the split. It’s why they will all be out of a job soon enough.

Nobody currently employed their was there when the split was instituted.

I wouldn’t call the allegations cheating. I’ll say it again, the alleged misconduct doesn’t warrant the 4 year retroactive punishment (especially forfeiting championships won in a SELECT division) and the LHSAA is a clown show run by the master clown.
So you’re saying that Catholic is keeping their mouth shut and accepting the punishment because they know they didn’t cheat and don’t think the forfeitures are valid? Give me a break.

Those rules written long ago didn’t foresee schools that barely get any students from where they’re located, or even big multi-parish metro areas

Has anyone heard the following?
Catholic turned in a Coach for trying to recruit a couple of their players. But that coach was a previous coach at Catholic and he had lots of text messages of the recruiting that was going on when he was coaching at Catholic. So that got turned in.

The real disparity is in the smaller classes and everyone knows it.

There is a difference between recruiting current high school students to transfer schools, and recruiting youth programs where the kids have the choice to go wherever they want and the schools can select who they admit.

Then what’s the point of a select division?

One instance of their recruiting…. Getting an out of district QB to have basically a one on one tryout with the coach at Memorial Stadium. And they even videotaped it to evaluate the kid. Face it man, they cheated and they got caught. Them not appealing it tells you all you need to know. It could have been worse and it should have been

Although I am not a fan of the split, the proponents of the split don’t think it is fair that the private schools can have kids from many different districts.
Having the split though doesn’t mean you can legally go actively recruit kids.

Interesting. The alleged misconduct occurred in 2017. Catholic’s Qb’s from this past season reigned from powerhouse definitely not Catholic feeder middle schools SJV and OLOM.

This wasn’t a one year deal of misconduct

It’s an interesting paradigm. Every single student is recruited at Catholic. I guess once you get to the point of being too good at recruiting, that’s when the rules start to apply. When does the U high investigation start?

Wrong. The vast majority just go there because family went there, friends going there etc.

Not all recruiting is illegal

Right. There’s no outreach, house visits, open house, middle school visits, etc. I must have been a highly sought after prospect then. I feel special.

So they don’t go to Catholic middle schools and pitch to 5th graders?
This is such a weird thread grown men(?)upset about middle schoolers going to the best program.
