Whoever is the GM for St Louis should be fired immediately. Blaine Boyer is absolute garbage.
Boyer had allowed six runs in 1-1/3 innings over three games for a 40.50 ERA and had struggled since the middle of last summer. He had a 14.43 ERA in 25 appearances since last July 26. Boyer will be assigned to the Cardinals’ major league roster.
Good luck with that on your major league roster, LaRussa. Maybe they can switch Boyer's position or something.

Barton wasn't going to rejoin the big-league club with the 4 outfielders platooning out there now... especially since Thurston would have moved to the outfield before Barton came back.
The Cards are likely looking at getting something for nothing basically. Duncan will probably turn Boyer into a sinkerball pitcher... and remember, no one was thinking that Duncan would be able to work wonders with Jeff Weaver, Jeff Suppan, Joel Pineiro, Kyle Lohse or any other number of guys no one else wanted.

Being a Braves fan, any time Boyer would come out of the bullpen to pitch i would get angry and turn the channel

He'll have LOTS in common with the current pitchers in the Cards pen. They should all get along well.
