You're right.

Why do you keep changing your argument? You went from Cam > Drew since 2011 to Cams beginning > Drew's beginning. Why?

Did you realize how foolish the 1st comment was?

It's not changing an argument it's reinforcing it. Both of those things are true.

I don't know that Cam will ever experience the level of success Drew did in his prime, and he certainly won't in Carolina under this regime, but pretty hard to argue the other two points.

So Cam has been better from 2011-2014 than Drew Brees?

Based on?

Sorry you don't like facts.

Yet you said this when their stats were compared:

Drew Brees is the ultimate stat compiler? You don't say! This news is breaking.

So when their stats were brought up, you changed the argument to their 1st 4 years. Troll away, b/c no one is that stupid.

Based on a combination of stats, team success, and factoring in supporting casts.

Drew had a Super Bowl roster around him Cam was coming on to the worst team in the entire league. Cam has more division titles and more divisional

Panthers have won 2 division titles with Cam Saints have won 1 since Cam got into the division.

I hope the panthers go all in on his next contract, would make the south a two team race for the foreseeable future.

Career. Of course. First ballot HOF. One of the best of all time.

Last 4 years. What counts? Stats? Division Championships? Y'all tell me.

First 4 years in the NFL, Cam>>>>>>>>>>>>Brees

I don't think Cam will equal what Brees has done. But that's just an opinion.

But based on the first 4 years, Cam's upside is way beyond what Drew's was at 4 years in the league.

Lest anyone forget, the Saints D in their Super Bowl win (what 5 years ago now) was fantastic. They don't beat the Vikings or the Colts without that great defense.

And despite all his numbers the Saints haven't smelled success with their crap defense.

Now queue up the "we" have a super bowl and Falcons arguments that are completely irrelevant to the discussion.

They really do circle the wagons every time their precious Cam is mentioned.

That defense was ranked in the 20s. They did however force a frick ton of turnovers, and often in crucial moments. They were not a dominant or great defense by no means though.

However, Brees had the number 1 offense that season. There were no pro bowl receivers, and a running back by committee approach. They lit up the league and have been doing so offensively since Brees came here. He should've won MVP in 09, considering he outplayed Manning (so did favre) Also, in the playoffs that year Brees had one of the greatest post season runs of all time. 8 touchdowns, no interceptions (his playoff stats in general are absurd). Brees hasn't lost the saints post season games, but that defense absolutely has (@Sea 2010 season, @SF 2011 season especially come to mind). I still believe if Gregg Williams wouldn't have been a frick tard at San Fran, that Brees would have 2 Super Bowl titles, or would've played in another Super Bowl at the very least. He was unstoppable in 2011.

But if you're trying to make the point that Newton has had a better start to his career, then no shite. Brees wasn't handed the keys to the car to start off like Newton. Brees in his 4th year was way better than any of Newtons 4 seasons though, he showed the ability to progress as a player. Brees year 4 >>>> Newtons year 4. Brees currently >>>>>> Newton currently.

Good point. They were simply clutch when it counted.

Yes, that is all I am saying.

I would say that 6'6", strong, fast, dominant and mobile will do that.

quote:

Brees currently >>>>>> Newton currently.

I'd rather have Brees of course, but Cam has won 2 division titles in a row. And Brees is in decline.
