Jerry Rice had the greatest career by any receiver, but Calvin Johnson is the most talented receiver of all time. No real discussion needed.
Terrell Owens and Randy Moss also had more talent than Rice. But....
To CJ's credit, though, he appears to be much more a professional and team player than Moss and Owens. As a result, barring injury, he'll have a better career than them and only question being if he'll have a better one than the current GOAT.

Still got a ways to go before he catches Jerry Rice.
Imagine if Megatron had played for those 49er teams!
Montana to Megatron would have been said a lot.

Imagine Megatron's numbers to this point if he didn't have Jon Kitna throwing to him the first couple years of his career.

That can go several different ways.
Does CJ benefit from being pretty much the only option? I know that means more double and triple teams (though Rice was doubled and tripled at times), but it also means he sees more balls his way.
Also, think about the fact that teams throw much more these days, mostly due to the rules that if you so much as pinch an intended receiver with your finger nail, a flag is thrown.
Good debate. Calvin Johnson is a complete BEAST. Best player in the NFL last season and this, in my opinion.

Best WR, sure....but Manning has been the best player!!!

The debate can be had, but yes, Manning's play has been good enough for that debate to occur. Amazing he got to what...20 TD passes before his first INT of the season. Absolutely sick!
